Penguin Paddling Terms and Policies

Cancellations/Refunds

Penguin Paddling requires a final participant count for private events 14 days before the event. You will be billed based on this number of participants.

Cancellations may be made up to 14 days prior to tour/rental date. 100% Refunds will be granted up to 14 days before a tour/rental except for group events with a contract indicating otherwise. Within 14 days of tour/event/outing no refunds will be granted. No shows will not be refunded under any circumstances. Being more than fifteen minutes late constitutes a no show. 

If Penguin Paddling LLC has to cancel a tour/rental for any reason within our control, a 100% refund will be granted and a 25% discount granted on same or similar tour/event/rental at a later date.

Weather Policy

Penguin Paddling prioritizes guest safety above all else.

Because paddling is an outdoor water activity, weather conditions can affect whether tours and rentals are safe. Tours and rentals operate rain or shine; however, Penguin Paddling will not proceed in hazardous conditions, including flooding, thunder, or lightning.   Weather conditions can change quickly, we will not send out our equipment while dangerous conditions are present.  Outdoor activities carry inherent risk and this policy in no way indicates that Penguin Paddling assumes liability for that risk.  Summer showers are often brief, and conditions after a short rain can be ideal for paddling. Forecasts alone do not typically result in cancellation unless hazardous conditions are clearly expected.

Weather-related cancellations are made at the discretion of the trip leader or rental staff. The final decision is made at the launch point at the scheduled tour or rental time. If a tour or rental is canceled for weather before departure, Penguin Paddling will make every effort to reschedule for a date or later time that works for both the guest and Penguin Paddling. If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund will be issued unless a specific event contract includes a clearly stated non-refundable deposit.

Waivers

Waivers and equipment rental agreements must be signed prior to participation in any Penguin Paddling LLC event/activity/rental.

Use of PFD

Due to the fact that Penguin Paddling LLC conducts activities on the water, Personal Flotation Devices must be worn properly at all times for the event. This is a requirement for participation in our events/rentals.

Drugs/Alcohol

Penguin Paddling LLC prohibits the use of any mind altering substance on our tours. No Alcohol or Drug use permitted under any circumstances. Use of Alcohol/Drugs while paddling poses a huge risk to guests, guides, and members of the public. Use of Alcohol/Drugs before or during one of our tours/rentals will result in the forfeiture of purchased tour/rental and no refunds issued. Persons found to be using these substances will be dismissed from the activity immediately at nearest landfall without refund.

Pass Rules/Terms

1. Passes are non-transferable. You, the pass-holder, may use any of the boats/boards for a two hour rental period with one punch of your pass. If you bring a guest you may take him/her out on a tandem boat without additional charge. If your guest(s) wishes to use their own boat or board, they must pay to rent the boat or use their own punch card. YOU MAY NOT PUNCH THE SAME CARD MULTIPLE TIMES FOR DIFFERENT GUESTS TO RENT EQUIPMENT!!!

2. We do not pro-rate punches. If you take the board/boat out, it counts as a punch. Each punch is good for two hours of equipment usage. If you go past the two hour mark, another punch may be used or you may pay $10/hr for additional time

3. Treat cards as cash. No replacement cards issued.

4. Cards good only for the season during which they are purchased. They have no value after close of the season. We are a seasonal business that closes down in the fall. Our exact timeframe for closing varies, but we try to stay open from around April 15 until mid-October.

5. No Refunds offered on 10 punch passes.

6. All Equipment offered on a first come, first served basis.

7. Passes good for on-site rentals only.

8. All rules, terms, policies and practices of the business remain in effect for passholders. All participants must complete a waiver and wear a personal flotation device to participate.

9. For an additional $40, pass holders may add unlimited weekday boat/board use. Rentals on holidays that fall on a weekday are not included in the unlimited weekday pass. 

Discounted Gift Card Program

The program encourages customers to purchase their next rental visit before leaving after their current one. Key details include:

1. Customer Offer

a. Customers may purchase a $50 gift card for $35—a 30% discount—when checking out after a rental.

b. The discounted gift card can be applied to their next visit. The card cannot be used on the date of purchase.

Example: Johnny rents a single kayak at the standard hourly rate. After completing that rental, he is eligible to purchase one $50 gift card for $35. He may not use that gift card toward the rental that made him eligible for the offer.

2. Purchase Limits and Timing

a. For each rental purchased at regular retail pricing (kayak or paddle board), the customer may purchase 1 discounted $50 gift card, for example: Johnny rents a single kayak at the standard hourly rate for one hour and then rents a paddleboard at the standard hourly rate for one hour. His total is $22 + $27 = $49. He pays for the $49 in rental fees and is then eligible to purchase 2 X $50 gift cards at the discounted rate of $35/each.

b. The discounted gift card must be purchased in the same transaction as the qualifying rental checkout.

c. Discounted gift cards may not be used on the date of purchase and become valid only on the following day.

3. Use Restrictions and Expiration

a. Discounted gift cards may be used only for full-price purchases.

b. They may not be combined with other specials, promotions, or discounts.

c. Gift card funds expire five years and one day after the purchase date.
